This darker version was adopted in 1943 and served alongside the earlier version in light khaki.
NOTE 1: These cap comforters are in the original wartime size which modern customers may find to be tight on the head. This can be remedied by putting the comforter on the head while damp and wearing it until dry. The wool will relax and retain the shape of the head.
