This is a new reproduction from WHAT PRICE GLORY of the leather magazine pouch adopted in 1912 for use with the M1911 pistol.

15 Reviews

It copies original construction in all details including the blackened brass eagle snap closure.  This pouch would normally be worn on the M1912 garrison belt, along with the M1912 pistol holster and belt frog.  Enlisted men were also issued a leather clip pouch for M1903 Springfield ammo.   All these accessories are available from WPG.

I am offering this reproduction just as they were originally issued, in vegetable tanned undyed russet leather.  The leather will darken over time with exposure to saddle soap, oil and polish.  The metal is blackened brass as originally specified, although most originals were eventually polished.  Photo shows my reproduction and an original pouch for comparison  This offering is for the reproduction pouch only.  Pouch copies original markings, but with inspector initials of WPG.

What type of leather is the pouch made from?

The pouch is made from vegetable-tanned, undyed russet leather. This leather will darken over time with exposure to saddle soap, oil, and polish. The leather thickness can vary between individual pouches. Some pouches have thick leather, while others have thinner leather.

What kind of snap closure does the pouch have?

The pouch features a blackened brass eagle snap closure. This snap copies the original construction details. The snap closure is generally secure, and magazines will not be lost even if the flap is not snapped.

What kind of belt is this pouch designed to fit?

The pouch is designed to be worn on the M1912 garrison belt. It fits this belt perfectly. The back belt slot is very tight and will not fit over a pistol web belt or the M1921 Sam Browne belt.

How well do M1911 magazines fit into the pouch?

The pouch is designed to fit M1911 magazines. Some pouches have a very tight fit for magazines, making them difficult to extract. Other pouches fit the magazines just like they should.

What are the markings on the reproduction pouch?

The reproduction pouch copies original markings. However, it includes the inspector initials of WPG. This distinguishes it from an original period item.

What is included with the purchase of this item?

This offering is for the reproduction pouch only. It does not include the M1912 garrison belt, M1912 pistol holster, belt frog, or M1903 Springfield ammo clip pouch. These other accessories are available separately.
