British Two-Color Small Mesh Helmet Net

This is a reproduction of the combination brown and green helmet net used by British and Commonwealth forces during WWII. It is also suitable for modern issue para helmets. The net is identical to issue items from the 1970s and 1980s. It looks authentic and matches original WWII examples.

The helmet net is made from cotton. The cotton weight can vary between individual nets, with some weighing 30g and others 40g. The mesh squares are 1/4 inch.

The most common advice is to wet the net, often in hot water, and stretch it before attempting to fit it. Some also suggest rubbing in hair conditioner to soften the net. Using sprung clothes pegs, bulldog clips, or securing it through straps or bolt holes with wire can help hold it in place while stretching.
