British Officer Khaki Drill Service Dress Cap

This cap is a reproduction of a British officer's Khaki Drill Service Dress cap. It was worn by officers in the Middle East and tropical areas during World War Two. The design is copied from an original period item.

Sizing is inconsistent between caps; some fit perfectly according to normal sizing, while others run a bit large. One size 7 1/8 cap fit more like a 7 1/4 to 7 1/2. The cap can be adjusted for a better fit by adding a strip of leather around the inside of the liner.

The cap is described as very comfortable and well-ventilated, especially when the internal plastic liner and stiffener ring are removed. It is suitable for activities like hiking and driving. The construction is outstanding, making it a good choice for casual wear.

The adjustable leather chin strap can be tightened without issue. However, the chin strap is not quite like the original and is often replaced. The strap is described as "crappy" or "not brilliant" by some.

The clear plastic inside top liner is a bit thick and crackly when flexed. It is loose-fitted and can be easily removed. Removing the liner and brim stiffener can give the cap a more realistic "field" look.

Some caps do not have holes for affixing a cap badge. This means holes may need to be made to attach a badge. Despite this, the cap is still considered a good purchase.
