The jacket is made from sturdy drill cloth. It is a tough, heavy cotton fabric. The material is of excellent quality and construction. It is designed to be rugged and durable.

The jacket is cut quite straight, so if your waist is wider than your chest, you may need a larger size. For a 38-inch chest, the 38 size fits very well. The body length can be on the short side, so ordering the longer size is advisable if you are over approximately 5'11". The chest and arm fit are generally good, with some finding the armpit area a tad tight.

The jacket features an open stand and fall collar, suitable for wear with or without a shirt. All jackets have standard plastic BD type buttons. The buttons are well-sewn onto the garment.

The sturdy cotton fabric can be a bit too warm for constant wear in hot and humid climates. However, it is perfect for travelling and for transits on planes and buses. The sleeves have plenty of room to roll up neatly, which can help with comfort.

The jacket features traditional construction, including a back centre pleat and rear seamed inset sleeves. It has bellows pockets, which are spacious and secure. The overall construction is sturdy and well-made.

To prevent unwanted shrinkage, especially in the armpit area, it is recommended to cold water wash the jacket. Line drying is also advised. Using a dryer might cause shrinkage.
