Excellent value for the WW2 reenactor who also Knows how to tinker. Ordered Mine empty because You have family service radios out there that get up to 15 mile range now, which means if You install one of these, You can probable get about 5 miles distance. Not bad for ww2 airsoft gaming !

Well done Jerry! This second run is so much improved. The case is well made and there are no gaps to worry about. Seems to be rather water proof, mind I didn''t immerse it in water to find out. I did use it in an event where we had moderate rain. Range was good, about 1/2 a mile in the woods. A bit better in open areas. My only concern is that the antenna is very fragile. I managed to snap it off in the first hour in the field. Luckily you can find a replacement at your local Radio Shack. I''ll certainly be getting a second radio soon. Having a radio in the field that looks the part is one of the biggest flaws in the hobbie. Now we finally have an excellent product to bring with us.
