Cap looks good and actually screwed 3/4 of the way on. The cork that came with it was a little small. Replaced cork and it no longer leaks.

Nice piece for an odd look to a canteen, will only fit 1910 pattern canteens. Threads were a little rough but still went on fine.

I honestly didn't knwo the earliest canteens had the flat cap, and with research discovered some did. A rarity I admit, but for pre-WWI use, this little detail makes a difference. Very well made.
